Introductions and Greetings

Developing the habit of offering a friendly greeting and appropriately acknowledging others shows respect. Teach teens to execute a proper introduction by teaching them to stand, extend their hand and say, “Hello my name is first and last name.” When the person says his or her name repeat it. Say that it is nice to meet her. Also teach teens the “formula”younger people are introduced to elders.

Conversational Skills

Conversational skills are an art that overtime with practice becomes natural. Learning how to contribute and conduct conversation, the give and take of dialogue will benefit teens as they navigate their way into adulthood. Teach them to make eye contact, listen then respond and Include others in conversation.

Teach teens how and when to write a thank you note. With some guidance this will become part of their adult routine.
